Since 1993, Kauai Habitat for Humanity has built 100 homes for families across the island, but they want to do more. As a result of such high costs, they needed to look for ways to improve capacity in each department, make their processes more efficient and track their valuable assets more closely.
“The ToolHound solution is a perfect fit for Kauai Habitat for Humanity”, responded Dean Perry, President of ToolHound. “With ToolHound in place, Kauai Habitat for Humanity will be able to ensure that tools and materials are where they are needed, when they are needed.”

“Because of the generous support of businesses like ToolHound, we can build the next 100 homes in half the time of the first 100.” commented Avery Welkin, Resource Development Associate for Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is currently in the testing phase of their ToolHound Tool and Equipment Management software implementation. Once they are up and running, they expect that the ToolHound solution will help them meet their goal of serving more families by putting them in homes of their own.
About Habitat for Humanity:
Kaua`i Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non profit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Kaua`i Habitat seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from Kaua`i, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Kaua`i Habitat was founded in 1993 after hurricane Iniki struck the island and since then has completed 100 houses around the island from Hanalei to Kekaha, providing 550 people with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
Kaua`i Habitat for Humanity is a community organization, working in partnership with people of all faiths who are dedicated to Habitat's mission of helping families in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing on the island. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more homes. The homes then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
