Proper Tool Management Key To A Safer Job Site

ALBERT, Alberta — March 24, 2014 — ToolHound Inc., a leading global supplier of tool tracking systems, reports that the regular use of an equipment management system significantly contributes to improved workplace safety. Not only can users track the movement and usage of tools, but a robust management system like ToolHound 5 enables preventative maintenance schedules to be automated, ensuring that equipment is always in good condition.

More than 2.8 million workplace injuries were reported by U.S. employers in 2012.[i] Misuse or failure of equipment is listed among the most common causes of industrial injury by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Tracking the maintenance schedules of tools and equipment contributes to fewer equipment breakdowns and work stoppages, longer tool life, greater resale values and, most importantly, a safer work site.
